SENIOR SCIENTIST, PHARMACEUTICAL SCIENCE SMALL MOLECULE DRUG PRODUCT DEVELOPMANT

Description:

The successful candidate will be a key member of the Pharmaceutical Sciences group based in Summit. The successful candidate will provide reformulation, crystallization and solid-state characterization to the drug product development as well as to the drug substance group based in Summit, NJ.

  • Provides hands on laboratory support to the drug substance group during final API crystallization and crystal engineering

  • Solid state and powder characterization of API including single crystal evaluation

  • Evaluate the relationships of polymorphs and assess the physical stability of polymorphic forms of the API

  • Provides drug substance physico-chemical characterization & offer solutions to enhance exposure in animal and human studies

  • Solid state stability especially relating to forms and interconversion of crystal forms

Qualifications:

  • PhD in Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Science, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry or related scientific discipline minimum 7+ years’ relevant experience in the pharmaceutical industry

  • MS in Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Science, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry or related scientific discipline required with 12+ years relevant experience in the pharmaceutical industry

  • Demonstrated knowledge, experience, and successful track record in discovery and preclinical support, preclinical formulation development, salt screening and selection, polymorph screening, solid state characterization, and aiding FIH formulation design.

  • Strong fluency in biopharmaceutics

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Education:

M.S. or Ph.D. in Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Science, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry or related scientific discipline required

Travel: 10%
