This senior computational chemistry role will be primarily responsible for the delivery of 1) computational chemistry driven molecular design and in silico tools which have high project impact, and 2) proposal, advocacy, and scientific/technical leadership in areas of key remit within Celgene, including but not limited to in silico elements for LDD such as target-E3 ligase complementarity, computationally-driven means to prioritize target-ligase proposals, LDD optimization strategies, celmod / neo-target optimization, Celgene library expansion strategies in support of these and general Celgene chemical equity, and HTS screening / triage suited to rapid identification of high quality lead matter for these areas. It is a requirement that the incumbent be an avid practitioner in the computational chemistry field and continue to contribute to the evolution of the discipline. It is an expectation that the individual possesses a track record and plurality of significant achievement.

This senior position will both lead and support activities including, but not limited to:

  • Providing effective computational chemistry project support that advances projects against key milestones

  • While the position is based in Boston, the role will contribute significantly across Celgene Discovery sites

  • Where key technical and scientific leadership will result in more robust outcomes for LDD and celmod platforms, his/her involvement to advance key in silico-centered issue(s)

  • Be an advocate for change management in areas where data and best practices illustrates potential substantial impact for computation in the advancement of project milestones

Skills/Knowledge Required:

  • PhD in organic chemistry, computational chemistry, cheminformatics or related fields with 10+ years of industry experience

  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written

  • Possess an entrepreneurial approach
