The Executive Director, Patient Support and Reimbursement, is responsible for leading the development and management of our patient access support services and reimbursement strategies across all Celgene current and future pipeline products. The ideal candidate will have experience leading a large, diverse team, and creating proven solutions that improve patient access to medications and treatment.
In addition, the Executive Director is responsible for developing a cohesive approach across all Celgene Patient Support Service platforms to build a Celgene Center of Excellence for current and future portfolios and accountability to lead the integration across both franchises to ensure unified platforms for responding to daily customer issues / resolution and serving as a point of contact for Celgene cross functional partners in customer care, channel marketing, finance, business analytics, sales, market access, commercial learning, and marketing as well as external vendors.
The Executive Director will oversee the development of the colleagues in Celgene Patient Support within the Hematology/Oncology and Inflammation & Immunology franchise to develop a bench strength and enhance career development by providing leadership and motivation through results oriented, focus, clear communication and direction, delegation and coaching.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
Provide strong leadership and team direction to achieve excellent results and deliver on the goals and expectation for Celgene Patient Support.
Conduct results focused operating reviews and drive appropriate change and adjustment to ensure desired alignment and execution of strategies and tactics to align with US Market Access.
Provide a strategic vision and set clear expectations to lead employees in goal setting and performance planning. Conduct performance evaluations and ensure continuous development for direct reports.
Lead and monitor day to day operations and strategy of Celgene Patient Support, PAP and financial assistance service providers to ensure high quality performance and adherence to contractual requirements.
Ensure the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and workload index for Specialist teams and vendors are monitored effectively and efficiently, soliciting process improvements when necessary.
Provide guidance for critical customer issues, access and program performance trends that are escalated and ensure follow through to resolution.
Lead the strategic planning for upcoming launches, launch meetings, and other opportunities to interact with senior management in the organization.
Drive the implementation of new services, program enhancements and operational efficiencies.
Effectively prioritize, allocate and manage financial resources; regularly monitor expenditures and budget variance for patient support services, along with any operating costs to CPS.
Understand how to navigate within a matrix and manage the infrastructure to coordinate resources and align efforts between both franchises.
Work in conjunction with legal, regulatory and compliance personnel on CPS business rules and rules of engagement.
Requires minimum of a Bachelor's Degree, Master's Degree a plus.
15+ years in the pharmaceutical industry with expertise in commercialization, reimbursement, channel customers, specialty pharmacy, specialty distribution, coding and all aspects of patient support/HUB services.
Expertise in oncology, hematology, and inflammation & immunology pharmaceutical products is preferred.
Understanding Medical/Legal/Regulatory Review processes at a pharmaceutical manufacturer.
Candidates should have a working knowledge of the compliance and regulatory environment for pharmaceutical manufacturers.
Excellent communication, presentation and time management skills required; must be adaptable, flexible and able to work well within a team and relate effectively with people at all levels of the organization including Senior Leadership.
Able to inspire a large team to excel by fostering a climate of energy, excitement and personal accountability.
Demonstrated leadership in ambiguous situations.
Understanding of the complex US legal, regulatory, and compliance regulations and guidelines.
Ability to partner with key internal stakeholders to understand Celgene’s key objectives, and to drive plans that achieve or exceed these.
