Summary

The CEE Commercial Lead Hematology & Oncology (H&O) & Immunology & Inflammation (I&I) is responsible for CEE marketing effectiveness (annual strategic planning process, country implementation monitoring), driving commercial effectiveness (SFE, KPI setting & monitoring) and new product planning for CEE as well as & execution of above market & pre-launch activities for markets in scope (Poland, Czech Rep., Slovakia, Slovenia, Croatia and Hungary).

The individual will oversee and lead the development and execution of the H&O & I&I strategic business plans for CEE markets including the integrated marketing, sales, and market access plans. As a member of the CEE HUB leadership team, the individual is expected to operate in close coordination and collaboration with her/his peers at the CEE level as well as with Country Commercial Leads and partners in the International Markets HQ.

Whilst the focus will be on existing H&O & I&I brands and indications, the CEE Commercial Lead H&O & I&I will also be responsible for steering future products within H&O & I&I for local go-to-market strategies. The role will also be supported by CEE Multi-Channel Lead, CEE Project Manager and CEE/Poland Business analyst.

The role therefore offers the clear opportunity to play a key leadership role in further grow and develop the H&O & I&I franchises within CEE.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Drive the growth of the H&O & I&I businesses, establishing growth and profit expectation and ensuring effective financial planning.

  • Responsible for CEE marketing effectiveness and commercial effectiveness and new product planning for both H&O and I&I franchises

  • Effectively lead the CEE commercial team comprised of CEE Multi-channel Lead, CEE Project Lead and CEE/Poland Business analyst.

  • Responsible for the establishment and maintenance of a positive working environment based on Celgene values and leadership success behaviors that allows to maximize all team members

  • Coaching his/her team, including setting and monitoring of goals and incentive plans. Responsible for appropriate training, learning and personal development of his/her team

  • Set up and maintain appropriate CEE cross-regional and cross-functional structures for the development and execution of Brand Plans and Launch plans for Celgene products in CEE

  • Initiate relevant market research projects to support the strategic brand planning process

  • Accountable for market research and business intelligence for H&O in Switzerland

  • Lead collaborative efforts with CEE Country Commercial Leads and Country Customer Engagement Leads as well as Market Access, Medical, Regulatory Affairs and other shared functions as relevant to develop strategies for in line products as well as future pipeline products

  • Provides input and oversees / monitors country implementation of CEE strategies

  • Partner with Regional /Global Marketing and Medical Affairs on key projects, meetings and congresses to ensure optimal and proactive management of Key Opinion Leaders

  • Contributions to the overall team success based on their individual strengths and competences.

  • Ensure that all business activities are in line with company policies and procedures

  • Establish strong relationships with external bodies as relevant

  • Establish a professional and inspiring relationship with the overall organization and functions ensuring a positive contribution to the objectives of the organization.

  • Foster an environment of strong collaboration across the local, regional and global organization, ensuring a ‘One Celgene’ approach and balancing the needs of the local H&O and I&I organization with those of the broader corporate objectives.

  • Plays a key role as the interface between the countries challenges and needs and the regional/global commercial strategy. Helps to shape and strengthen the CEE brand

  • Maximizes synergies and efficiencies across markets (e.g. coordinates in-market material development and re-use in other CEE markets)

  • As a member of the CEE HUB Leadership Team providing commercial input for business development opportunities

Skills and Knowledge required

  • A seasoned and well-rounded biopharmaceutical leader with experience in a variety of sales, marketing, market access, business development and/or country management roles of progressively greater scope and responsibility. The leader must have extensive commercial experience with pharmaceutical products (acquiring, developing, registering, launching, life cycle management). Experience with regulatory, reimbursement and access requirements in Poland is highly desirable.

  • Successful management experience with direct responsibility for a team, and a demonstrated track record of delivering top line growth and bottom line performance.

  • Proven command of classic and novel (multichannel) marketing disciplines and techniques. Demonstrated success in commercial planning, launching products and life cycle management is important.

  • A strong business orientation and the ability to view issues from multiple functional and perspectives and across different countries. Experience from working collaboratively and cross-functionally with marketing brand teams, market research, sales, medical affairs and regulatory.

  • Broad knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry and specific expertise in multiple therapeutic areas. Knows the science, clinical practices, market dynamics, competitive products, competitive selling strategies, etc. Experience in specialty products is required.

  • Undergraduate degree in business or related discipline required. An advanced degree is a positive; an MBA from a well-regarded institution is a plus.

  • Fluency in spoken and written English and one local language is required.

  • Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills, demonstrated leadership skills.

  • Creativity and curiosity with a drive for findings new ways and solutions.

  • Energetic and driven, but capable of fitting into a small team environment.

  • Ideally experience in managing partnerships.

  • Hands-on and can-do attitude.

  • Excellent communicator and collaborator (internally and externally).

  • Open style, pro-active communication and being at ease in different cultures.

  • Strong identification with Celgene’s values.
